There are two wars currently going on in the Middle East: the one that’s widely covered by the media, and the covert war that nobody ever hears about. The documentary DIRTY WARS exposes the horrors of Joint Special Operations Command (JSOC), drone strikes, military “kill lists,” and midnight raids by placing the viewer right in the gruesome aftermath of the fighting in one of the world’s most war-torn regions.

Investigative journalist Jeremy Scahill is relentless in his search for justice for the innocent victims of a US military raid in Afghanistan. His journey takes him through Afghanistan, Yemen, and Somalia, but he encounters the most obstacles in a place much closer to home: Washington. Enduring media backlash and mysterious, threatening phone calls, Scahill finds his goal to expose “what’s hidden in plain sight” much harder to achieve than he ever could have imagined. DIRTY WARS unearths disturbing questions about the war on terror and offers answers that are even less comforting.
